Thamain and Wilemon state that there are five ways to seek resolution in conflicts:
Smoothing
The compromise; (compromising)
pressure (forcing)
the comparison (collaborating)
avoiding

The positive aspects of the conflict

  • conflict stimulates communication between group members,
  • favors mutual understanding
  • makes stipulated agreements more incisive

when average levels of conflict are determined in the group, the best performances are obtained (Walton).

  • Address the problem not the person, try to establish a positive relationship with the other party;
  • Come up with options that are beneficial to both of you;
  • To resort to unobjectionable dictates
